MARY IN TURKEY

OUR BOSS, MARY CAME TO OUR SCHOOL ON FEBRUARY 11. OUR PUPILS WERE VERY EXCITED.ALL PUPILS FROM ALL GRADES SANG MANY SONGS AND LEARNED MANY USEFUL THINGS FROM HER. THEY WERE VERY SAD WHEN SHE WENT. WE HOPE SHE COMES AGAIN. THANKS FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION MARY.

Grandma's and grandpa's day in Strawczyn!

Every year our students celbrate grandm's and grandpa's day which fall on 21st and 22nd January.
This year a school celbration took place at the end of January. Students from the second form together with their teachers prepared  a short presentation including poems, rhymes and songs. They invited their grandparents to school. They wished them all the best and gave kissses

After the presentation it was time to eat delicious cakes together.

Grandparents took a lot of photos.

Winter holidays!

Winter holidays was a relaxing time for every student. This school year it started 12th January and finished 27th January. Some students stayed at home for two weeks. They did some outdoor and indoor sports such as skiing, ice-skating and swimming. It was also a good opportunity to meet  friends and relatives.The others were away. A group of students spent their winter holidays at a sports camp in the Tatra Mountains. They did some hiking and very weird things! Have a look at these photos!

We forgot that we had pictures from our Christmas celebration. Here you can see a play about baby Jesus' birth. 

In Spain, the Three Wise Men bring presents to the children. They are Melchor and Baltasar

This is a traditional Christmas cake. It  is a kind of sponge cake with cream.

Junior Infants

We made playdough using flour, salt, oil, hot water and food colouring.

We made puppets of our favourite nursery rhyme characters.

Senior Infants

We are learning lots of songs this month . We learned about things that make noises

in science in our homes.

We also making masks in art.

First class designed their ideal classroom.

First and Second class

In Art we are  learning all about Pablo Picasso. We  drew Picasso heads, we painted a portrait of Picasso and we coloured  one of his pictures” The Three Musicians”

 Third and Fourth        

We made a friendship board and we discussed how to deal with bullying.

1^st February is the first day of spring and Saint Brigids day.

We made Saint Brigids crosses.

We learned about the four provinces and the 32 coutries

of Ireland..

Fifth and Sixth class

We are learning about area and perimeter in Maths.
In Geography they are learning about the EU.
In  History they are learning about World War 1.
