Junior Infants

We had our sports day last Wednesday . Two of our senior teachers retired Ms Considine and Ms Nolan . There was a Mass and refreshments in the parish hall.

Seniors and 1^st

We went on our school tour to Wood field house .We planted chives, lettuce and carrots in the school garden. We are looking forward to watching them grow

1^st/2^nd

We had our sports day.

We are really looking forward to our holidays.

We are busy finishing our work for the year.

In maths 2^nd class are learning about capacity.

3^rd/4^th

We are watching Wreck-it-Ralph in school.  We made sunflowers for art.

The boys won a county district final and were runners up in county hurling final.

  We are going to bring home our spring onions and lettuce from our garden today.

 We went to the Dunbrody , New Ross The Heritage Park , FerryCarraig and Leisure Max  Wexford for our school tour.

5^th / 6^th

Today is our last school day before our holidays. 6^th class for off  early on Wednesday 5^th class are doing comic strips of this school year.

Junior Infants

We have started our constructions made of junk.

We made a Crayon box , a Volcano and a Zoo.

Senior Infants/First Class

Have been busy writing our own stories and illustrating them . We wrote about our dreams.

 This week we were busy doing English and Maths tests.

1^st/2^nd

Second class made their first Holy Communion last Saturday .

 We were looking at art work by van Gogh. We were painting sunflowers.

 We took out the parachute as a treat for working hard.

3^rd/4^th

We are making scarecrows for a scarecrow competitions.

 In Geography, we learnt about earthquakes  as there was a small earthquake off the coast of Ireland  in the Irish sea this week.  

  We had a hurling blitz last week against Oulart and the Ballagh National schools.

  

5th/ 6 th classes

Rackard league boys won their district final . We are now in  a County semi final.

Michael  is playing a match in Dublin at half-time during  the semi  final between Wexford and Dublin  this weekend.  

 5^th/6^th are finished  all their tests for the year.

  

Junior Infants

We designed and are going to make our own constructions in art. We are using recycled materials.

We have been looking at Capacity in Maths using non-standard units.                                                                                                      

Senior Infants

We are learning about the moon and writing our own stories about our trip to the moon.

We love the class story of Man on the Moon and had fun acting scenes from the story.

1^st/2^nd

In art we drew our dreams just like Vincent Van Gogh. We are learning about the famous artist Vincent Van Gogh.

We started back at hurling skills this week and in P.E. we are learning to play a new game called Line Ball.

In Irish we have been learning about clothes and we even dressed up a teddy bear.

In History we have been learning all about a famous Irish pirate called Grace O Malley.

3^rd/4^th

Ciara from Green Schools came to visit and talk to 3^rd,4^th,5^th and 6^th classes .We are now working on our 4^th Green Flag for Travel
.

We learnt about electricity in Science and how to make a circuit.

 

 Many of our class took part in Co. Wexford school sports day in Bree Wednesday 15^th May.

5^th/6^th

5^th and 6^th went to the Magpie River to go fishing on Thursday 16^th May and there was an electric fish in 
the river.

Rackard League boys made it to the District Final.

Noel came 3^rd in the high jump and also won a medal in Bree.                                                                   

We have a new Green Schools code.

Visit to Manchester

Two teachers of our school  have gone to Manchester as a teacher exchange. Here you can see some pictures.

This week we were visited by a  teacher from Ireland, her name is Evelyn.

She  taught us some games, songs, and showed us videos.

One of the games that we did was THE LEADER and one of the songs was a song from the Lion King movie "You Got Be".

Later we made a performance for her that we had to repit because we didn't have enogh people for the show.

Junior Infants

Ellen won an Easter egg for designing a poster in Irish.

We made cards and baskets for Easter.

Aoife brought in her tin whistle and her accordion and played Irish music like Button

Seniors/1^st

We had lots of fun learning about capacity in Maths.

We are starting to learn about how to take care of our teeth and almost everybody is bringing in fruit and vegetables everyday in our Food Dudes containers.

We are getting really good at following instructions and we made buzzing bees from following the steps.

1^st/2^nd   Class

On Tuesday 16th April  2^nd class made their First Penace.

We have been to choir practice for the Communion.

We made sheep in art to decorate the church for the first Penace.

We played bench ball [without the benches] in P.E.

We wrote book reports.

In Maths 2^nd class played time games on the laptops.

On Friday 12^th April we helped clean up the school yard.

3^rd/4^th

We had a spring clean up in school.

In Art we drew our portraits.

Eimear and Emma Louise won the Seachtain  na Gaeilge poster competition.

In history we learned about the history of the potato and the Famine.

We are starting our novel "James and the Giant Peach" by Roald Dahl.

5^th/6^th

Last Friday we helped to clean the G.A.A. as part of our spring clean.

This week we have been learning about algebra and capacity in Maths.

We are nearly finished our novel "Faraway Home".

In History we are learning about Michael Collins.

PANCAKE RACE
